The problem

Australian retirees are leaving money unclaimed

Many people never hear about what they're entitled to, or assume they won't qualify. Others claim late and miss out on months of support.

$3B

a year in benefits missed by Australian retirees, according to one research estimate.

1 in 4

of Australia's 4.1 million retirees apply late, or never claim benefits that are available to them.

40+

rebates, supplements and schemes for someone on the Age Pension, with no complete list anywhere.

Why it happens

Your benefits are spread across four places that don't talk to each other

Federal

Australian Government

The Age Pension, supplements, carer payments and concession cards.

State

Your state or territory

Concessions on energy, water, public transport and car registration.

Council

Your local council

Rates rebates and local services. There are around 540 councils, each with its own rules.

Private

Businesses

Seniors discounts on shopping, travel, insurance and more.

The rules also change at least twice a year. Even if you checked once, you can quickly fall behind. Seniors Money Finder brings all four together and keeps watch for you.

How it works

From "I didn't know" to "it's paid" in four steps

  1. Tell us once

Answer 10 to 15 plain-English questions about where you live, the cards you hold, your home, your car and whether you care for someone.

  2. See what you could get

Get a personal list of benefits you may be eligible for, item by item, with an estimate of what each one is worth to you.

  3. Claim with help

Follow simple steps for each one: what documents you need, where to apply, who to call and links to the official forms.

  4. Stay up to date

Get a text, email or app alert when something new applies to you, a rebate needs renewing or the rules change.

What you get

Built for people who don't want to spend hours on government websites

One personal list

Federal, state, council and private benefits together, matched to your situation instead of a long list of links.

Step-by-step claim help

A checklist for each benefit that you tick off as you go, with reminders if an application stalls.

Alerts by text or email

We tell you when there's something new for you. No need to keep checking.

Family helper mode

A son, daughter or carer can set it up and manage it with permission, from wherever they live.

A one-page summary

Print your list to take to Centrelink, your council office or a family member.

Easy to read and use

Large text, high contrast, one question per screen and no hidden menus. Works on a phone, tablet or computer.

Questions

Common questions

Is it really free?

Yes. Seniors Money Finder is free for pensioners. We're funded by organisations that want to reach older Australians, such as councils, seniors groups and businesses with seniors offers. Any paid offer is clearly labelled and never placed above a free government benefit.

Is this a government website?

No. We're an independent Australian service. We bring together information from federal, state and local governments and link you to the official place to apply.

I'm not good with computers. Can I still use it?

Yes. It's designed for people using these tools for the first time: big text, one question at a time and plain English. A family member or carer can also set it up for you.

Will you give me financial advice?

No. We give general information about benefits you may be eligible for, and show you how to check and claim them with the right provider.

Is my information safe?

We ask only what we need to match you to benefits, store it securely and never sell it. We will never ask for your myGov password or bank details.

Which states do you cover?

All of them. Seniors Money Finder covers federal benefits plus New South Wales, Victoria, Queensland, Western Australia, South Australia, Tasmania, the ACT and the Northern Territory, along with local councils and private discounts.

When can I start using it?

We're getting ready to launch. Join the waitlist and we'll let you know as soon as it's open.

I'm signing up

We'll only use your details to tell you about Seniors Money Finder.
